In my opinion nothing beats a classic piece of clothing except when that classic piece of clothing has a unique detail. This gray sweater is one I would have loved without the open back, but the open back detail it makes it so much cuter!

Classic pieces are great because they’re easy to wear even if they have a unique detail, so don’t be afraid to wear an open back sweater like this. Just treat it like any other sweater. So far I’ve layered this sweater over dresses, paired it with blue jeans, black jeans, and joggers.

Open Back Sweaters

Sweaters with unique back details are so popular right now and a great way to inject some fun into your basics. I also own this lace up back cardigan, and this cross back sweater (both seen here). I also love this twist back sweater that comes in several colors and this pink open back sweater with a bow.

Beret

I purchase this wool beret last spring (seen here) only getting the chance to wear it once. Now that the temperatures have dropped I’ve been wearing it non stop. You can see where I’ve worn it more recently in my monthly style diaries here and here. I love this beret so much I’m thinking about purchasing another color like maybe this red one from H&M.

I paired my open back sweater with a lace cami (similar here) that I wore backwards so the lace detail would show between the ties.

This ring handle purse can be worn as a clutch (as seen here) or cross-body like I’m wearing.

Over The Knee Boots

One of my favorite purchases from last year seen here, here, and here were these over these knee boots. I love the little ties in the back, the fact that they stay up on my leg without needing to be tied, and their soft sock like material. They are still available on the DWS website here.
