Do you ever get so excited to wear a new pair of shoes that you build an entire outfit around them? Well, that is exactly what happened when I received these Sseko ribbon sandals in the mail last weekend!
They’re different than my other lace-up sandals (last seen here) because these ribbon sandals can be tied 100’s of different ways. So far I’ve only tied them the classic way as seen above, but I’m sure I’ll style them several different ways before the summer ends.
These sandals aren’t just special because of the many different ways they can be tied, but also because of who made them. My sandals were handmade by a woman named Sarah who lives in Uganda. Sarah, along with several other Uganda women are employed by Sseko to not only earn an income, but are given the ability to attend the university in the fall. So far Sseko has sent 106 Uganda women to university and they employ over 40 full time women. Checkout their website here for all their beautiful handmade ethically sourced apparel and accessories.
While trying to decide what to pair my new ribbon sandals with I landed on these American Eagle distressed boyfriend jeans (similar here). I’ve had these jeans for years and they’re still one of my absolute favorite pairs (last seen here, here, here and here). I like how they’re cuffed at the bottom giving off a hint of my ribbon sandals underneath.
This belt bag (last seen here) has been so handy this summer! Not only does it make for a cute accessory, but I have worn it on outings like to the zoo, and I love wearing it over dresses since most dresses don’t have pockets. This belt bag is on the smaller size (just big enough to hold a few cards and a phone), but I love it so much I probably will buy a larger one. It feels so freeing to walk around hands free.
I’m still obsessed with all things polka dots right now and I’m always a sucker for a classic black and white combination. I couldn’t find this Urban Outfitters top online, but I did find similar versions here, here, and here.
I recently purchased these Sojos black aviators from Amazon along with a pair of black cat eye sunglass (last seen here). I haven’t worn Aviators in years, but they are such a classic that never goes out of style.
