Festival Fashion

This past weekend my husband and I traveled to Peoria, IL (around an 1.5 away) to see one of our favorite bands, Band of Horses play outside on the riverfront. We love outdoor concerts and what better time than now to feature a festival look.

Since it was hot that day I decided to keep my clothing loose fitting and breathable, but have some fun with the accessories I layered in. When it comes to festival fashion more is more, and concerts are the perfect place to experiment with layering on lots of accessories.

I love the drama these oversized cat eye sunglasses bring, and for only $13 they’re an inexpensive way to add some personality to an outfit.

I paired these high-waisted shorts (last seen here, and here) with this vintage inspired belt from Zaful. You may not have noticed, but the only problem with this belt is that it didn’t come with enough holes. I need to add in a few more, but thankfully it didn’t keep me from wearing it!

For my jewelry I layered on all my favorite dainty gold rings (here and here), and these charm bracelets/wrap bracelet from Bella Ryann.

I love this cross-body bag (last seen here) even more now that I’ve started knotting it at the top to wear as a shoulder bag. It reminds me of how I wore purses as a kid back in the 90’s when the only reason I carried a purse was just for fun.

This Good Vibes t-shirt has been one of my favorite clothing purchases so far this year! Even though my husband said “you’re wearing that shirt again?” (I’ve worn it once before on the blog here) I wore it anyway because it’s the prefect concert tee! Not only is this shirt loose fitting and comfortable (I’m wearing a size small), but it kept me cool during this hot summer concert.

We love seeing concerts on Peoria’s Riverfront thanks to the beautiful location and the small intimate venue. We never have trouble snagging a front row spot as long as we’re there when the doors open. I even went home with a souvenir, a pick thrown to me by Ryan Monroe the keyboard/guitar player for Band of Horses!

I think I can take some pointers from you! I’m someone that has a hard time drawing the line as to what clothes would be best in hot weather. It seems like common sense, but a lot of my wardrobe is polyester fabric (not good if you sweat a lot in the summer), so layering accessories to make your outfit still stand out is a good idea! I’m so happy to hear you found this post helpful! No shame I’ve definitely done that before! Sometimes something is just too cute not to wear!

What a great concert outfit! I love the tee and I would wear it over and over as well! 🙂
