The Animal Print I Can’t Get Enough Of

I’ve noticed a trend toward leopard print recently and it reminded me just how much I love this print! I’ve worn this J.Crew leopard print sweater several times before on the blog here, here, and here. So, I think it’s about time I add some more leopard print pieces to my wardrobe. I’ve been on the lookout for leopard print heels, skirts, dresses, and a coat.

I really like these leopard print block heel sandals from Old Navy, these pumps from DSW, and these ankle boots from Asos. This Nordstrom pencil skirt is on sale for less than $20, and this Asos coat would look great layered over outfits this fall. I also love this leopard print wrap dress from Free People, and this Nasty Gal slip dress is on sale for $30.

Since it was a little chilly first thing in the morning I layered this denim motorcycle jacket from the Gap over my leopard print top. You can find similar jackets here, and here.

When To Wear Flats Vs. Heels

If you’re unsure on when to wear flats vs. heels a good rule of thumb is to wear flats when the hem is shorter than your knees, and heels when the hem goes below the knees. But, sometimes it’s fun to break the rules and I purposely paired this knee length pencil skirt with flats for a laid back vibe.

Cat eyes and leopard print make for a great combination.

This bucket bag by Modmopolitan has been such a favorite of mine I can’t stop wearing it! I’ve already featured it on the blog two weeks in a row here and here, but without the cross body strap.

These Target mules I picked up last year have been such a favorite of mine I decided to buy the faux fur pair too. I bought these over the weekend and I can’t wait to wear them with jeans and sweaters this fall.

Outfit Details: Gap Jacket (similar here), J.Crew Sweater (similar here), Express Skirt (similar here), Modmopolitan Purse c/o, Target Shoes (similar here, and here)

Your tip on when to wear heels vs. flats is a really good one! I’m sure I’ve done this, but more subconsciously. It all makes a lot of sense now though. Still like you said, breaking the “rules” can be fun!I only have maybe one leopard print in my wardrobe, so I might need to add another in soon! Great blog post Cassie!!!

Thanks so much Sara! I know I run the risk of looking short when I wear flats with skirts that are just past my knees, but when I put the two together I liked the not trying too hard/casual vibe it gave off. I’m in the same boat with only one leopard print top, so now that I’m seeing leopard print everywhere I know it’s an easy time to stock up on some more! 🙂
