Today I wanted to share how to update your workwear for the fall and upcoming winter season. Even if you work from home you’re going to want to add these pieces to your wardrobe!
Outfit Details: Express Tank, Cardigan, Skirt, & Heels, Amazon Purse
Matching Sweater Set
One of the hottest trends for fall, that’s not only comfortable, but work appropriate too is the matching sweater set! Even if you work from home you’re going to want to add one of these versatile sets to your workwear wardrobe.
Dress Them up
Wear the sweater set together with a nice pair of dress pants or a pencil skirt. Accessorize with your favorite heels and your’e good to go. For a night out add in a clutch and a bold lip.
Dress Them Down
Wear your sweater set with a pair of high waisted straight leg jeans and penny loafers to play up the preppy vibe.
Mix & Match
Don’t forget you can wear the pieces separately too! Throw the cardigan on over a t-shirt, turtleneck, or tank top. Wear the matching top by itself with a pair of jeans or dress pants. So many style options when it comes to the matching sweater set!
Style Tips
Not all stores sell sweater sets together. When you find a cardigan that you like see if they have tops and/or bottoms in the same color and material so you can make your own matching set!
Structured Tote Bag
Structured tote bags are everywhere right now and I’ve been on the lookout for one to carry this fall. I like how this one has a longer strap as well as a matching wristlet
Style Tip
The size of this bag is great for holding all your work essentials from laptops to notebooks. Plus, the extra room is nice to have for gloves, scarves, and even a change of shoes. On cold, icy, or snowy days just carry your heels in this bag and change out of your snow boots once inside.
Other Ways To Carry It
The size of this purse also makes it great to use as a carry-on, diaper bag, or just an everyday purse. I found this bag on Amazon for less than $45 and it comes in 18 different colors!
Knitwear
Knitwear is trending for fall so why not bring it into your workwear wardrobe too? I’m a big fan of knitwear skirts (as seen here) and think they look so great in a midi length. Wear them with a matching knit top or knit sweater for a work appropriate outfit.
Dress Them Up
Dress knitwear skirt or pant sets up for work with ankle boots or heels. If you get warm try tying your knit cardigan or sweater over your shoulder for a preppy office look. For a night out add in a bold lip, ditch the cardigan, and carry a clutch.
Dress Them Down
Dress a knit wear skirt or pant set down with white sneakers and a mini crossbody purse.
Footwear
When it comes to footwear for fall and winter you really can’t go wrong with a good pair of boots. Chelsea boots, western boots, and knee high boots are great options this time of year. Penny loafers are also trending for fall and are perfect for work. Pumps are always a classic work choice that never goes out of stye. On colder days bring your pumps with you to change into once inside.
