The Spring Edit With Wayfair

Products purchased through this post may earn me a commission.

I’m teaming up with Wayfair to bring you The Spring Edit, a collection of advice, inspiration, trends, and product picks for the upcoming season.

The Wayfair Spring Edit Q & A with Cassie of The Dark Plum

Wayfair: Spring cleaning is basically an annual tradition for most people. What is the first thing you suggest to people who ask your advice on how to start getting organized?

Cassie: If you’re feeling overwhelmed by all the clutter in your home, the best place to start organizing is in a small area like a drawer. Take everything out of that drawer, clean the empty drawer, put back what belongs in the drawer, put away what belongs somewhere else in your home, and recycle, donate, or sell what you no longer want. Repeat those steps with other drawers, closets, or rooms in your home and before you know it, your whole home is organized! The quick win you get from organizing a small space first, as a result will give you the momentum to keep going.

Wayfair: What are the top three spaces in a home that typically require the most organization?

Cassie: Kitchens for sure! They’re the heart of the home and frequently used so organization is key. Also, closets. Most closets need lots of organizing thanks to all the clothing and accessories. Lastly, bathrooms. For example, all the makeup, hair and skin care products, and cleaning supplies keeping all those small items organized is so important.

Wayfair: Moving on to design aesthetics, which color palettes are speaking to you this season?

Cassie: When it comes to color right now I’m really drawn to earth tones and neutrals. Now that I’m spending most of my time at home I love the calming effect neutrals have.

Wayfair: Are there any interior design trends that are really standing out to you right now?

Cassie: Yes! Some trends I’m loving right now are wicker and rattan furniture and baskets. These baskets are not only beautiful for holding plants and blankets, but they’re great for corralling clutter too. I’m also loving indoor plants real or fake. Love the calming effect they have as well as breathing fresh new life into a space. Statement headboards are also a favorite of mine. They give a beautiful focal point to a bedroom.

A simple inexpensive way to refresh your bedroom for spring is especially with new linens! Update your bed with fresh sheets, duvet, or a few new throw pillows. While your at it don’t forget to update your closet storage too. Inexpensive ways to refresh your closet include adding a few baskets for storage, removing your winter clothing and placing them in storage bins, or adding a storage system like a shoe bench. Click here more closet organizing tips on the blog.

Lastly, for those looking for a bedroom and/or closet refresh for spring, check out the selection at Wayfair:

Closet and Storage: Underbed storage bins, clothes racks, walk-in closet systems, closet islands, shoe storage benches, and more!

My Mother’s Day started at 4am with a nursing baby My Mother’s Day started at 4am with a nursing baby in my arms, a toddler crawling into my bed and falling asleep on my shoulder, & a doggie sleeping across my legs. 💕 They have no idea what today is, but I’m feeling so blessed to be surrounded by all my babies on Mother’s Day 👶🐶👧 Even if it was at 4am 🥱

Not pictured our dog Sydney. 🐶 I’m so tired I didn’t even notice until after we got these pictures 🤪 I knew I was forgetting something! 🙈

After laboring at home for 2 hours we JUST made it to the hospital maybe 45 minutes before he came out with 2 quick pushes! It all happened so fast my head is still spinning. 🥹

So thankful my SIL @thedivinemissem77 answered her phone and came quickly to stay with Audrey & my hubby @npbrady9 taking care of everything else as we rushed to the hospital. ♥️ God is so good & we couldn’t be happier with the newest member of our family 🤗
