Although I’m no longer a student, living in a college town I’m never too far from the back to school vibe. A recent stroll on the University of Illinois campus got me thinking about what I would choose to wear if I was going back to school.

SNEAKERS
When it comes to back to school fashion nothing beats a fresh pair of sneakers. I’m wearing my favorite pair of the moment, but I would love to add a white pair ( like these Reebocks, these Nikes, or these Adidas) to my collection too.
DRESSES
I paired my sneakers with a dress not only because I love the juxtaposition of casual meets dressy, but also because of how effortless it is to throw on a dress and go. Casual dresses like this chambray one (similar here, here, & here, last seen here) are not only comfortable, but they help you look pulled together with minimal effort.
MATCHING ACCESSORIES
Black sneakers and a blue chambray dress don’t really match so to help tie this look together I added in a black belt. I love adding belts over dresses especially shapeless ones (like the one I’m wearing here) to help define the waistline.
And lastly, I added in a black purse. I chose a crossbody purse (similar here) that can easy be worn over the shoulder, across the body, or carried by the handle. The multiple ways to carry this purse make it easy to wear while also carrying a backpack.

CARDIGANS
With fall being just around the corner now’s a great time to stock up on cardigans. Cardigans are a great way to transition your summer pieces into fall like this chambray dress I’m wearing.
This cardigan is my new favorite thanks to its adorable heart shaped pattern and oversized look. Plus it comes in several colors and little girl sizes too!
