A classic trench coat can make even the most basic of outfits look super chic. I love pairing mine with neutrals like black, white, and even denim for an easy effortless outfit. Read on to get my tips for styling a trench coat this spring.

T-Shirt

Try layering a trench coat over your favorite t-shirt. This one from Madewell is my current favorite, last seen here. Mixing casual & dressy piece together make for a casual yet polished outfit. This tip also works well for layering a blazer over a t-shirt.

Jeans

It goes without saying that jeans go with just about anything! Wearing a trench coat with your favorite t-shirt & jeans is a foolproof recipe for a chic outfit. Right now I’m loving high waisted, wide leg, cutoff denim. These jeans also come in white and dark blue, plus they are less tan $30 and so comfy!

Cap-Toe Shoes

When it comes to shoes, my favorite thing to wear with a trench coat is a classic pair of cap-toe heels similar here, here, & here. Not only do they look great together, but I love how these shoes look with denim too.

Accessories

Lastly, add in a few of your favorite accessories to complete the look. This v-neck t-shrit is the perfect backdrop for showing off a necklace like this one. A classic black leather belt pairs nicely with high waisted jeans, and a unique bag in a neutral color adds in some much needed interest. Also, I love how shells are making a comeback! The two I’m wearing are a necklace and anklet I already had from the early 2000’s, but I also like this one, this one, and this one.
