What could be more perfect to wear on Valentine’s Day, especially if you live somewhere cold, than an oversized velvet sweater? This voluminous bow sleeve sweater is the perfect mix of comfort and romance.

I don’t know about you, but I’m always on the lookout for unique/interesting sweaters. Winter basics can get a little repetitive after a while and it’s fun to mix things up. This velvet sweater is not only unique, but I knew it would be perfect to wear on Valentin’s Day!
Styling Oversized Sweaters
Styling an oversized sweater like this can be a little intimidating. One way that never fails is balancing out the top’s fullness with a pair of skinny jeans as seen here. That outfit would be perfect for a casual date night or a laidback Galentines get together.
Since Valentine’s Day also happens to be my birthday, I like to dress up a little more than normal. I decided to pair my velvet sweater with a high waisted pencil skirt (to balance out the fullness of the top), black tights, and floral ankle boots.

This sweater is no longer available online, but here are a few other options that could be dressed up or down this Valentine’s Day. This lace trimmed sweater or this one could be worn on or off the shoulder. This pink sweater with a black bow and this pink turtleneck sweater with heart elbow patches are both so cute! And this lavender chunky sleeve sweater and pink chunky sleeve cardigan both look so cozy.
Style Tip: Turn any top into a crop top by tucking the bottom of the shirt under your bra. I could have tucked this sweater in, but I like the look of it floating above my high waisted skirt as a crop top.
For Valentine’s Day my husband and I keep it pretty simple. We typically go out to eat, exchange handwritten cards, and I prefer flowers while he prefers something sweet to eat. As for my birthday, I like to buy my own gifts so I can get exactly what I want. Spending the day shopping with my husband is half the fun, plus I found the perfect faux tree for my home office.
What are your plans this Valentine’s Day?

That sounds so good!!! I also love having traditions and doing the same thing each year. We used to go to dinner every year, but the last few years we’ve ordered in.
