I fell in love with shackets last year thanks to their versatility, comfort, and style. Shackets are slightly warmer than a shirt, but not as heavy as a jacket. They’re the perfect transitional piece between seasons, or a warm additional layer when the weather is extra cold. This year I’m all about the cropped shacket. I love their more fitted silhouette and how they look when paired with high waisted jeans. Keep reading for several ways to style them this winter and beyond.
The pastel colors in this Express shacket makes it the perfect transitional piece into spring. 🌸
Outfit Details: Express Shacket, Bodysuit, & Jeans, Amazon Over The Knee Boots
Wear Them With High Waisted Jeans
The cropped edge of a shacket is great for showing off the smallest part of your waist! Pair a cropped shacket with some high wasted pants. I chose to wear skinny jeans here, but you could easily wear some straight leg mom jeans, or wide leg jeans too. Tips on how to wear mom jeans here.
If it’s cold where you are like it is here for me in the Midwest layer your jeans with over the knee boots. If you’re wearing a pair of wide leg jeans it’s easy to layer some leggings underneath. Lastly if the shacket isn’t warm enough layer a sweater under it and a coat over it.
Wear Them Over Dresses
On slightly warmer days, I plan to wear this shacket over some of my dresses. A cropped shacket will look great over a babydoll dress, a bodycon dress, or a sweater dress. The cropped shacket will help to define the waistline, keep the outfit more laid back, and allow you to wear dresses even if it’s still a little cold out!
For added warmth this winter try wearing skin tone tights or leggings under a dress, or wear some over the knee boots with long socks underneath. Lastly throw on a scarf or beanie for some added warmth.
Pair Them With Neutral Colors
In order to let the shacket stand out pair it with neutral colors. I decided to play up the pastels in my shacket and I paired it with a light pink almost skin tone top, and these light wash jeans.
Besides highlighting the smallest part of the waist, a cropped shacket will also elongate the body making you look taller!
