SEQUINS
I absolutely LOVE wearing sequins for New Year’s Eve. They’re so festive! Last year I wore a sequin blazer with a sequin dress. This time around I went for a more subtle sequin outfit that’s easier to wear again and again. I can imagine wearing this skirt to a Christmas party, church service, showers, date nights, or even Valentine’s Day.
I highly recommend having a few sequin pieces in your closet for the occasional holiday party. No matter how informal a few sequins will help you get into the holiday spirit.
Above I’ve listed a few of my favorite sequin pieces that you can wear now and thought the new year.
SWEATERS
Depending on where you’re going for New Year’s Eve sweaters are a great option to keep your warm and festive. Plus, you probably have several options in your closet already. Try dressing up a sweater by layering it over a dress or skirt (like I did here), or try pairing them with dress pants. For a more casual New Year’s Eve outfit pair your sweater with jeans or leggings.
I recently got this sweater because of its crisscross front that can be worn on or off the shoulder. It also looks so cute dressed up with a skirt, layered over a dress, or worn with distressed jeans and white sneakers.
If you’re looking to add a few more sweaters to your winter wardrobe here are a few of my favorites that would look great dressed up or down. Plus, you can wear them all winter long!
Besides the sequins I couldn’t resist the fullness of this skirt! It reminds me of the Christmas dresses I used to wear as a child.
ACCESSORIES
What New Year’s Eve outfit is complete without the right accessories?! Wether you’re going to a formal party or relaxing at home with family and friends the right accessories will make any outfit feel festive.
I kept my accessories simple letting the sequin skirt and off the shoulder sweater shine. This vintage purse that belonged to my mom (last seen here) and heels in the same blush hue fade into the background. I also layered in a belt since I wanted to wear this skirt higher on my waist to meet my crop top sweater.
Here are a few accessories that would complete any look. From cute hair pins to purses to shoes the right accessory will dress up any basic sweater and jeans or add the finishing touch to a more formal outfit.
Happy New Year!!!
