I’ve always loved wearing linen in the summer and what could be comfier than a paper bag waist? These Express high waisted linen paper bag shorts check all the boxes. Now that falls just around the corner get my tips on how to transition these linen shorts into the next season.

1. Wear them With A Form Fitting Top
Outfit 1: Linen has a natural stiffness to it. Since the shorts are going to fan away from the body, try pairing them with something more form fitting. I chose to style mine with this pecan colored bodysuit. The form fitting top also makes it easy to show of the paper bag waistline.
Outfit 2: This time I styled the cream colored shorts with a white sweater tank top from Amazon. Both tank tops show off the cute paper bag waist!
2. Add A Linen Button Up
Outfit 1: Oversized linen button ups are so popular right now so why not add one over your linen shorts?! Plus, they’re the perfect transitional piece for fall! You can leave your oversized linen button up open like I did here, tie the bottom half in a knot, or wear it buttoned up and tucked into your shorts.
Outfit 2: This blue linen button up is especially oversized because I borrowed it from my husband! When shopping for a linen button up a great place to look is in the guys section, or size up one or two sized for a more relaxed fit.

3. Pair Them With Sandals
Outfit 1: Lastly, wear them with your favorite sandals and you’re good to go! I wore my favorite cream colored lace up sandals to match my bodysuit similar here.
Outfit 2: Braided sandals are so popular right now so I couldn’t help but try a pair! These gold toned sandals are so pretty and an easy way to update your wardrobe. They look just as cute with shorts and dresses as they do with jeans.
