Polka dots have recently become one of my favorite prints replacing stripes as my typical go to. Not only are polka dots a classic, but the print is so fun and cheerful that I can’t help but want to wear it all spring and summer long. I plan on adding lots more of this retro print to my wardrobe with pieces like maxi dress, swimsuits, jumpsuits, tops, and even heels. Balance Out The Sweetness With Denim & Leather
This classic print can easily be paired with just about anything! I chose to wear my polka dot dress with a distressed denim jacket to balance out the sweetness of the polka dots. A leather jacket, ankle boots, or even a pair of jeans (with a polka dot top) would also have the same effect. When it comes to workwear try adding a blazer over a polka dot top or dress to balance out the sweetness of the print.
Small Scale Polka Dots Act As A Neutral
Think of small scale polka dots as a neutral instead of a print. This is so helpful if you’ve never worn polka dots before and/or you’re unsure of what to pair it with. The small scale is also great for those who love print mixing! Pair it with a stripe, animal print, or even a larger scale polka dot. Also, the small scale makes this print appropriate for work.
Layer In A Few Of The Moment Accessories
Since polka dots are such a classic print have some fun by adding in a few of the moment accessories. My favorites right now include top knot headbands, statement earrings, and layered coin necklaces.
